I wanted to give everyone a quick update on the Jensen project that Corlan and I have been spearheading. It seems like it is taking forever, but honestly we have been moving forward and completing a lot of behind the scenes work to stretch the money as far as possible!
We were blessed by Damon LeBaron and his company who painted the sanctuary at no cost to us and also was able to get the paint donated. It was long overdue for painting! The fireside room also received a fresh coat of paint.
There is new carpet in the sanctuary and fireside room, plus new floor covering in the fellowship hall.
Each of those rooms had their own little issues to deal with but all in all they turned out lovely!
Spring of 2023 was a whirlwind of trips to nurseries from Olympia to Woodland looking for just the right plants for the landscape part of the project. Because of the roasting hot summer we only prepped the area to be ready to plant in the fall. A big thank you to all the muscle provided by the P&F guys for all the digging and planting.
We are currently continuing around the building to the east side and are cleaning up the old preschool playground. A lot of prep work is happening now in order to move forward with the pavers and new fence.
Thanks again to all who volunteered time to make this project happen!
